Project Description
Residences along Yoder Lane discharge wastewater through private laterals that cross Happy Creek to reach City Sewer. Laterals were constructed using various methods and some no longer appear to be in good condition.
The City is currently finalizing an emergency repair to City sewer near this location where Happy Creek washed out a portion of gravity main. The combination of erosion in the area and older, privately constructed lateral crossings could result in sanitary sewer spills into Happy Creek. The area is wooded and brushy, and a broken lateral could go undetected for some time. Our recent project has demonstrated that work in this area is very difficult for contractors to perform due to the topography and vegetation.
The City intends to do a study to investigate potential solutions for reconfiguring the sanitary sewer along Yoder Lane.Location: 237, 239, 241, 243, and 247 Yoder Lane
